Celebrating the World Environment Day!

The World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and is held every 5th of June. The celebration of this day gives us the opportunity to broaden the foundations for responsible behavior of individuals, enterprises and the community in the preservation and improvement of the environment.

The topic of World Environment Day 2019 will be "Air pollution". We can not stop breathe, but we can do something about the quality of the air we breathe.

On this occasion, the Center for Climate Change - Gevgelija plans to organize a one-day event in Gevgelija, that is, in the primary schools in the city and in two kindergartens. The event includes 30 minutes presentation for air pollution and its impacts, in both primary schools (Primary School Vlado Kantardziev and OOU Krste Misirkov). At the same time, for the youngest, it will be organized a parade from the kindergartens to the center of the city where the children will be presented with a short performance on the topic of environment. For kindergarten children, t-shirts with a message for clean air will be provided. The parade is scheduled to start at 9 am and at 9:30 and it is expected to arrive at Gevgelija Square. The presentation at the Primary School "Vlado Kantardziev" is scheduled for 11:30, and at the Primary School "Krste Misirkov" at 12:30.

The event is organized within the project " Transboundary Air Pollution Health Index Development and Implementation – (TRAP)" implemented by the Center for Climate Change and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Municipality of Florina, Center for life the environment of Western Macedonia and the European Regional Platform for Cooperation from Greece, and is funded by the European Union through the IPA Cross-Border Program Macedonia - Greece.
