Waste Management Forum - deficiencies at education of the young generations was conducted

12 and 13 of May 2017 in Strumica, Macedonia, Center for Climate Change – Gevgelija organized two days forum named as Waste Management at the cross border region – deficiencies at the education of young generations.

At the forum participated more than 60 representatives from educational institutions, municipalities and civil society organizations from Southeast region and Region of Blagoevgrad. During the two days event participants had a chance to discuss about current situation with waste management in the regions, problems and barriers they are facing with and potentials for better education at the educational system.

During the forum beside the presentation for the project, the two technical experts presented the current situation with waste in the Southeast planning region, the educational activities about waste management in the primary schools, the good practices for waste management and experience from european countries for waste management in the educational system. Also representatives from 4 primary schools from Municipality of Gevgelija, Strumica, Ilovica and Bosilovo presented the current activities in their primary schools related to waste management.

The forum is part of the project Cross border partnership for environmental protection and better life quality, financed by European Union through Interreg - IPA Programme for cross border cooperation Bulgaria Macedonia.
